CORFU. With another 300 riot police (MAT) expected to arrive on Tuesday the number of those present on the island will double. From the early hours this morning they put their plan into action - blocking off all side streets leading onto the main Lefkimmi road and, of course, all those leading to the landfill facility in Mesorahia, Lefkimmi.

Decentralized Administration amends Lefkimmi environmental regulations
CORFU. The Cleansing Services had just requested the amendment to the regulations when the Decentralized Administration sent it early on Friday evening - thus allowing the use of the sports pitch in Mesorahi, Lefkimmi for temporary storage of the waste bales.
Residents΄ Associations meeting to discuss the Enimerosi initiative for a meeting with the Mayor to discuss the refuse problem
