LEFKIMMI. Information that the riot police (MAT) had arrived in Corfu confirmed.
Early on Tuesday morning there were scenes like those from 10 years ago at the crossroads of the national Lefkimmi Road with the landfill. The area was filled with dozens of riot police (MAT) and their vans.
They were faced by Lefkimmi residents gathered in protest. The first action of the police was to provide protection for the contractor making the road to the facility accessible.
