CORFU. Today the Ionian Islands Regional Administration received the approval from the Decentralized Administration for the temporary storage of bales in Mesorahi, Lefkimmi.
This means that, even with the damaged facilities, the South Corfu landfill can take the bales that have piled up at the Temploni landfill. According to the report, the temporary licence can last no longer than a year, and in the meantime work will be carried out to repair the damaged facilities, which will then allow a permanent licence to be granted for a residue landfill facility.
The Regional Governor, Theodoros Galiatsatos, announced the receipt of the approval from the Decentralized Administration at a press conference for the local media today.
