Explosive device found near to rubbish that caught fire in Lefkimmi

CORFU. The device was discovered by firefighters who were called out on Saturday night to a fire that had broken out in a pile of rubbish near Ag. Dimitrios cemetry, Lefkimmi.
The Fire Service informed the police and the Corfu Prosecutor. The device, which had a fuse, is at present being examined at the Regional Police Laboratory.
According to police sources, what concerns them is the fact that, in the location where the device had been placed, it could have caused serious injuries to the firefighters who were trying to put out the fire or even to passers-by.
