Burnt-out buildings bear witness to what happened at Lefkimmi landfill facility
Images and eye-witness descriptions bear witness to what happened at the long-suffering Lefkimmi facility on Sunday morning. The fire which broke out during the night was spotted on Sunday afternoon – when everything had already burnt out! The Municipality is pressing charges. The Regional Governor is enraged. Lefkimmi Cultural Society and Mr. Charalambos are claiming it was the work of provocateurs. Meanwhile, everyone is waiting to see what is going to happen next. Today at 12:00 the Mayor is meeting with the Temploni Action Committee, which has hardened its stance.

Charter flight from Corfu makes emergency landing in Italy.
BRINDISI. A charter flight which had taken off from Corfu Airport had to make an emergency landing in Brindisi on Saturday 5th May.

Barricade taken down at Lefkimmi landfill
LEFKIMMI. The tyres that had been placed as a barricade blocking access to Lefkimmi landfill were removed today in the presence of the police.
