The best May ever in terms of airport arrivals

According to statistics posted by Fraport on Thursday, in May there were approximately 183,000 international passenger arrivals at Corfu Capodistrias Airport and 2,312 flight arrivals - an airport record for the 5th month of the year.

According to the Deputy Regional Governor, the following are this year's arrivals statistics compared to those of last year (source: Fraport):

Corfu: + 24.25% Top countries: 1. UK  2. Germany  3. Poland  4. Holland  5. Italy
Domestic arrivals and departures: +16.9%

Domestic arrivals and departures: +7.1%

Cephalonia: +33.8%  Top countries:  1. UK  2. Holland  3. Germany  4. Italy  5. Poland
Domestic arrivals and departures: + 23.9%

Zakynthos: +21.3%  Top countries:  1. UK  2. Poland  3. Holland  4. Germany  5. Sweden
Domestic arrivals and departures: +9.7%


The Ionian Islands Regional Administration is also predicting increases in the high tourist season. Tour Operators are requesting more beds for 2019 and sales for next year have already been underway for two months.
