CORFU. Police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks between 14:00 and 18:00 yesterday, 18 July.
Police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks between 14:00 and 18:00 yesterday, 18 July.
446 vehicles and 466 individuals were checked, leading to 2 arrests for driving without a licence. There were 195 driving offences, including the following:
- 25 speeding
- 10 not wearing seat belts
- 71 not wearing crash helmet
- 2 using mobile phone whilst driving
- 9 without driving licences
- 1 illegal overtaking
- 1 driving the wrong way in a one-way street
25 vehicles were immobilised for not using crash helmets, not having driving licences and driving under the influence.
Police checks are continuing.
