Checks on school buses and heavy vehicles
CORFU. 25 checks were carried out and 17 violations found.
(Ionian Islands Regional Police) Special checks were carried out by the Corfu Traffic Police on Friday, 21 March, to ensure a higher level of road safety during the transportation of pupils, as well as for lorries operating on the island's roads.
As part of this operation, which was conducted with the participation of the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Team, a total of 25 buses and lorries were inspected, resulting in 17 violations being recorded, as follows:

3 related to the legislation on the installation and operation of tachographs

14 for exceeding the legally defined driving time limits.
The prescribed administrative fines were imposed, and a magnet that interferes with the operation of a tachograph was confiscated.
Inspections will continue as planned by Corfu Police to ensure road safety standards.
