CORFU. It was put into trial operation after years of delays and adventures.

The DIADEYADK President and Central Corfu Mayor announced today that the sewerage system of the council houses in Ag. Ioannis was put into trial operation after it was connected to the now upgraded biological treatment plant at Skafonas. The announcement was made in the presence of DIADEYADK Board members, the Parelia Deputy Mayor Giorgos Pantelios and the technical advisor of the company Giorgos Armeniakos.

The sewerage network of the council houses in Ag. Ioannis was constructed by OAED while its connection with the biological treatment plant at Skafonas, which was upgraded and expanded in terms of its operation by DIADEYADK, has been completed.

As the DIADEYADK President said, the trial operation of the whole network is satisfactory. Ms. Ydraiou also made known that after the extension of the biological treatment plant, the studies related to the creation of sewerage networks for the local communities of Pelekas, Agios Ioannis and Sinarades have been included and provided for in DIADEYADK's technical programme for 2024. Once the studies are completed and approved, these three communities can be included in the funding for the construction of the sewerage networks and connected to the existing biological treatment plant at Skafonas.

The Mayor and DIADEYADK President stated the following: "A project that we have been hearing about for many years, which seemed like something that would never be completed, is now a fact. The construction of the sewerage system for the council houses is complete, the connection to the upgraded biological treatment plant at Skafonas is real and is up and running.

With these projects, DIADEYADK's financial burden is reduced and most importantly the residents of the council houses can enjoy modern, appropriate services. We have also included the preparation of studies for the construction of sewerage networks for the communities of Agios Ioannis, Pelekas and Sinarades in the new year, proving that we stay true to our promises".
