How is the Fuel Pass issued and who is entitled to it.
The vouchers.gov.gr platform opened on Tuesday morning and concerns aid for the fuel cost for the months of April, May and June 2022.
The amount of aid ranges from €30 to €50 and depends on the type of vehicle and the main residence of those entitled. The total budget is €130 million and comes from the General State Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance.
Entitled to the aid will be tax residents of Greece with a declared income of up to €30k.
Each person can only register one vehicle and the vehicle must be on the road and insured.
The beneficiary must have at least part ownership or a long-term lease for the vehicle.
The platform will open gradually, based on the last digit of the citizens' tax number (AFM). In particular, on Tuesday 26 April, citizens whose tax number ends in 0, 1 and 2 will be able to apply. By Friday 29 April, the platform will be available to all eligible citizens and they will be informed by announcements.
The platform is very simple to use. Citizens will enter the platform using their Taxisnet codes either directly through vouchers.gov.gr or through gov.gr, while they will also be able to apply through KEP offices. The system will automatically access the citizen's data to determine whether they are eligible.
Financial support can be provided in two ways:
- Either by issuing a digital debit card which beneficiaries can use to purchase fuel via their smart phone
- Or by direct payment of the amount to the beneficiary's bank account, for those who do not have a smart device or do not wish to use it for this process.
