Funding for Cleansing Services in North & South Corfu and Paxos from Ministry of the Interior

ATHENS. The Ministry of the Interior will be giving an injection of €150,000 to Municipalities with less than 50,000 residents - a total of 40m Euros going to 266 Municipalities.
The Municipalities of North and South Corfu and Paxos will receive extra funding of 150,000 Euros each from the Government.
The Minister for the Interior Takis Theodorikakos announced that the funding, which is to improve Cleansing Services and upgrade Municipalities' fleets of vehicles, will come from the 'Philodimos' programme.
A total of 40m Euros will be split between 266 Municipalities which have less than 50,000 residents. North and South Corfu and Paxos fall into that category and so are eligible to receive the funding of 150,000 Euros each.
The three Municipalities will thus be able, through invitations for tender, to acquire refuse trucks or road sweepers to improve the quality of service provided to the public.
