Ektoras Botrinis spoke to Open TV Channel about the 19-year-old in Corfu. In my kitchen everyone is an angel.
Restaurant owner Ektoras Botrinis told Open TV Channel that in his kitchens things are intense and accidents occur - but not like what has been claimed in the complaint. "I have heard the complaint, but that is not what the situation is like. Time will tell. Things are not at all as has been described in the complaint. Nothing has ever happened in my presence - everyone is an angel when I'm there."
The young trainee has claimed that he couldn't take any more of the abuse, ill-treatment and threats and resigned from his job at the restaurant. He has reported the kitchen head for the ill-treatment he suffered.
As well as the ill-treatment reported by the 19-year-old, he said that he had to work 12 - 13 hours a day. He said that other young chefs receive the same treatment but are afraid to say anything in case they never find another job. The 19-year-old's lawyer Stefanos Nikopoulos said, "There are oil burns on the arms as well as burns from spatulas caused by the head of the kitchen."
