Sino-Balkanica International Conference

(Ionian University) The Ionian University Hellenic Centre for Sinology (https://sinology.ionio.gr) and the Beijing Language and Culture University Global Center for Sinology are co-organising the international conference Sino-Balkanica 2025, entitled:
“Navigating Paths: Innovative Approaches in Sino-Balkan Studies.”

The conference will take place on September 29–30, starting at 10:00 AM, in the Ceremonial Hall of the Ionian Academy in Corfu. It will bring together distinguished researchers, academics, and experts from Greece, China, and other countries of Southeastern Europe, critically exploring the evolving research in Sinology and Chinese Studies, with a focus on Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The conference emphasises the importance of academic exchanges in fostering mutual understanding, political developments, and sustainable intercultural dialogue between China and the Balkans. Its interdisciplinary character will focus on contemporary Sinological discourse, integrating shared cultural heritage, educational and technological perspectives, and the Belt and Road Initiative. Special attention will be given to innovative research and teaching methodologies, emerging digital technologies, and their impact on cultural exchange and international cooperation.
