CORFU. Teams of workers and other helpers worked together to reopen the municipal roads following the damage done by the ΄Ballos΄ storm.

Municipal and Regional Civil Protection Services, soldiers, sailors, scouts and DEDDIE teams worked together to assist local residents who had been cut off by the huge amounts of earth, trees and other objects swept along by last Thursday's floods.

All the teams worked intensely to reopen the roads in the communities that had been cut off and now there is almost complete accessibility.

There has been huge damage done to the municipal infrastructure and engineers from the Regional Authority are recording the work that needs to be done following the floods.

Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa told ERT Kerkyra that the Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides has been asked to visit Corfu to be updated on the damage done on the island and is expected in the next few days.
