Road closed in Giro Achilleio and Kato Garouna
CORFU. Due to subsidence caused by the severe weather, roads are closed to traffic from Thursday 26/02 (07:30) at the following locations:
(Police Department) Roads have been closed to traffic at two key locations due to serious road surface subsidence caused by recent severe weather conditions. For safety reasons and to allow repair works to proceed, the following measures will be in effect from Thursday, 26 February at 07:30:
1. National Road – Giro Achilleiou
The road has been closed on the section from the area near the Achilleion Museum to the junction at the Angsana Hotel.
The closure will remain in place until the hazardous conditions have been fully addressed and repair works are completed.
2. Provincial Road – Agioi Theodoroi to Kato Garouna
The road has also been closed on the Provincial Road between Agioi Theodoroi and Kato Garouna.
Vehicle access to and from Corfu Town will be diverted through Ano Garouna.
Drivers are urged to use extra caution, follow the instructions of the authorities, and comply with temporary roadwork signage.
