694 driving offences in Ionian Islands last week

CORFU. 414 of the offences were in Corfu.
Traffic Police carried out checks between 26/1 and 1/2 in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada.
2,246 vehicles were checked
694 offences were confirmed (414 in Corfu, 115 in Zakynthos, 86 in Cephalonia and 79 in Lefkada).
These included the following:
- 225 for illegal parking
- 92 for speeding
- 57 for not using helmets
- 42 for MOT violations
- 35 for driving without a licence
- 21 for not using seat belts
- 19 for driving without insurance
- 18 for driving on the wrong side of the road
- 13 for noise above the permitted level
- 11 for driving under the influence
- 5 for using a mobile phone whilst driving
