DIADEYAK: "Uninterrupted water supply with the Merlin borehole"
CORFU. This is a significant boost for the water supply of the town and suburban areas, after many years, with around 2000-3000 cubic metres per day.
One of the two boreholes in the 'Merlin' area was put into trial operation in early September. As a result, night-time water supply interruptions were suspended, and it became easier to address issues, such as those in the Chrysida – Analipsi pipeline, without having prolonged outages.
To date, over 70,000 cubic metres of water have been provided to relieve the town's water supply!

The project involves the procurement of a pump, pipes, and electrical materials, the construction of a DEDDIE project (substation), connection to the electrical distribution network, installation of a water filtration unit to remove microbial load, and the construction of a 1,200-metre-long connection network, with a 250 mm diameter water supply pipe, from the borehole to the transmission network in Kommeno.
The project was completed using internal resources, without additional funding, and in record time.
DIADEYAK has conducted all the necessary tests and is planning to replace the old 1,500-metre-long water supply pipeline from Sotiriotissa to the intersection towards Agia Ekaterini, so that by next summer, the project will be fully operational.
