Dissolution of the last intermunicipal facility

CORFU. Central Corfu municipal council will discuss this matter - meanwhile a bill is about to restore management to the island as a whole!
It is not about the withdrawal of Central Corfu from the intermunicipal DEYAK in the manner of North Corfu, but about the dissolution of DIADEYAK. In case of running out before the expected relative legislative progress, the remaining member, South Corfu, is likely to reobtain the form of a Municipal water service.
The reason why this matter is being brought to the table is that both Central Corfu and its citizens can not take on the overall cost of the remaining DIADEYAK, divided into 88% for Central Corfu and 12% for the South!
Although,these thoughts existed from spring, they decided to take action by the end of summer. The summer experience was painful for both citizens and the municipal council and they decided to proceed rapidly. This matter was to have be discussed tommorow, but the meeting has been postponed due to municipal councillors leaving for Thessaloniki International Fair.
The decision will come into force by next year. Meanwhile, the journalistic information available talks about legislative progress, especially about the establishment of a water management body taking the form of a Public Limited Company, according to old law (reminding one of the Ionian Islands FODSA). In that case, the new management entity will start from scratch and the DEYA costs will be charge to their municipalities. According to DEYAK sources, when it comes to Corfu where the debts are 17 million euros, Central Corfu has to cover about 12 million euros.
