Central Corfu Municipality providing air-conditioned space during heatwave

The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands is providing an air-conditioned space at the Municipal Theatre to protect vulnerable members of the public from high temperatures.

The air-conditioned space will be available and accessible from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the period from July 10 to July 14.

Additionally, an air-conditioned space at the Day Care Centre for the Homeless will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays from Monday to Friday, available for the homeless (for information: 26610 81855).

An announcement will be posted in the following places:

1. Office of the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare, at 13 Samara Street

5. Community Shop at the corner of Metropolitan Methodiou and Kolokotroni 3

6. Community Centre, ground floor of the Municipal Theatre building on Stamatiou Desyllas Street

The implementation of this action is part of our municipality's social policy and public health protection in cases of significant temperature increases, based on the guidelines of the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Poverty Alleviation of the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs, in order to prevent the exposure of homeless people to risk due to the upcoming heatwave.
