Provision of air-conditioned spaces for homeless
CORFU. The air-conditioned spaces will be available during the period 21-25 July.
The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands is providing an air-conditioned space at the Municipal Theatre for the protection of vulnerable groups from the high temperatures. The air-conditioned space will be available and accessible from 09:00 to 20:00 during the period from July 21 to July 25.
Additionally, an air-conditioned area at the Day Care Centre for the Homeless will be open from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and available to the homeless. (For more information, call: 26610 81855).
In collaboration with the Corfu Social Protection and Solidarity Association, the space at the Open Care Centre for the Elderly (KAPI), located at 3 Akademias Street, will also be made available.
This air-conditioned space will be accessible from 15:00 to 20:00, from July 21 to July 25, 2025.
The public can receive information regarding the availability of these spaces by calling 26613 62124 on working days, between 08:00 and 14:30.

This initiative is implemented within the framework of the Municipality’s social policy and public health protection, in situations where a significant temperature increase is observed. It follows the guidelines of the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and the Fight Against Poverty of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, with the goal of preventing homeless individuals from being exposed to danger due to the upcoming heatwave.
A new press release will follow regarding the continuation of space availability, if required by weather conditions.
