CORFU. At the meeting with the Dean Andreas Floros, the framework of collaboration was examined, which may include mobility of students as well as teaching and administrative staff.

(Ionian University) A Georgian delegation consisting of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Georgian Embassy in Athens, Mr. David Kordzadze, the cultural attaché Ms. Ani Udzilauri, and Professor Avtandil Mikaberidze, President of the Georgian Institute of Athens, was welcomed at the premises of the Ionian Academy by the Dean of the Ionian University, Professor Andreas Floros, on Sunday, January 28th.

The Georgian delegation visited Corfu as part of the event "Meeting of Greek and Georgian Cultures," organised by Sinies Cultural Society, with the meeting attended by the president of the cultural association, Mr. Ioannis Garnelis.

During the discussion that took place, the Dean of the Ionian University provided a brief overview of the institution, the educational programmes offered, and the internationalisation strategy pursued, focusing on collaborations with foreign universities. In turn, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Georgian Embassy expressed the interest of Georgian academic institutions in collaborating with the Ionian University in high-demand areas, thereby further strengthening the strong ties between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to promptly proceed with the process of exchanging information that will allow meetings with academic representatives of Georgian universities sharing common fields of interest with academic departments of the Ionian University.

The framework of cooperation may include student mobility as well as that of teaching and administrative staff, as well as jointly organising events promoting the culture of the two countries. The Georgian Institute of Athens may also contribute to the cultivation of these collaborations, as stated by its President, Mr. Mikaberidze.

Finally, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Georgian embassy extended an invitation for a visit to Georgia to the Dean of the Ionian University, which was accepted, aiming to expedite the determination of cooperation with universities and research institutions of the country.
