Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis announces special Committee to investigate Tempi train crash

ATHENS. The chairman and members of the special Committee that will investigate the Tempi rail accident were announced on Friday afternoon.
Following a request from the Prime Minister, the Minister of State Giorgos Gerapetritis announced the establishment of a special Committee to investigate and identify the systemic problems and malfunctions that led to the Tempi rail accident.
The three-member Committee consists of Ioannis-Konstantinos Chalkias, honorary president of the State Legal Service, as chairman and professors specialising in transport issues Athanasios Ziliaskopoulos and Vassilios Profillidis as members.
According to the Minister's statement, the Committee will carry out its work as quickly as possible and will request the assistance of technical staff, experts or anyone else it deems necessary.
