CORFU. The five on board were taken ashore by another boat.
Corfu Coastguard received a report of a boat adrift in Benitses with five foreign nationals on board. A patrol boat was immediately sent to the area.
They found the vessel which was adrift - the Irida - being guided towards Messonghi by the passenger boat Andromeda.
The Irida managed to reach shore safely with the five passengers having already been taken ashore by another nearby boat.
The local port authority has forbidden the boat from sailing until the dmage is repaired.
