Tourism Ministry issues permanent licence for Benitses Marina

CORFU. The marina has been granted to investors that have undertaken its management and maintenance, following an international tender process with an annual leasing fee of €250,000.
The Ministry of Tourism issued today the permanent operating licence for the Benitses Marina, as it was found that all legal requirements for the issuance of the relevant decision have been met.
According to an announcement by the Municipality, after years of efforts, delays and shortcomings, the Central Corfu Municipality carried out quickly the procedures and thus the opening ceremony took place in July 2021 and the marina started operating with a temporary license.
The marina has already been granted to investors that have undertaken its management and maintenance, following an international tender process with an annual leasing fee of €250,000.
Τhe benefit for the wider area and the local economy is great as the Benitses Marina contributes significantly to the development of marine tourism.
The marina has 86 berths and another 10 berths will be given to professional fishermen.
As the Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou said in a statement, "the municipal property is being utilised and it brings money to the Municipality, which acquired an important infrastructure in the field of marine tourism, but it also brings money to the entire area and it is upgrading it."
