Civil Protection Minister visits Potamos Bridge and Afra Bridge

CORFU. Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides and Secretary to the PM Christos Triantopoulos visited Potamos Bridge during their short visit to Corfu today.
They heard the local residents' request that the riverbed be cleaned up, with all kinds of objects having collected there, including tree trunks, boats and other bulky objects.
The Minister also listened to Dimitris Pouliezos, who asked, on behalf of the residents, that the bridge be pulled down and a new one built in its place, which will be safe for drivers and pedestrians.
Prior to Potamos, there was a visit to the Afra Bridge, which suffered serious damage in the 'Ballos' storm. Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou was also present.
The two Ministers were accompanied by Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa, Deputy Regional Governor for Infrastructure Manolis Orphanoudakis, Nikos Miliotis from the Civil Protection Service, Regional Council President Nikos Mouzakitis, 'Ionian Alliance' leader Spyros Spyrou, Regional Fire Chief Nikos Roumeliotis and Corfu Fire Chief Nikos Kolovos.
