The temperature in Corfu yesterday was 41 degrees Celsius - making Friday 25 June the hottest day so far.
According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), the highest temperatures in Greece yesterday were as follows:
Lamia - 42
Corfu, Larissa, Tithorea - 41
Serres, Edessa - 40
Konitsa, Ioannina - 39
Tatoi, Zakynthos airport, Kozani - 38
Cephalonia airport, Tanagra - 38
Florina - 37
The website 'Weather in Corfu' announced that it was the highest June temperature that has been recorded at the meteorological station since it was set up 66 years ago!
