12 athletes from Corfu taking part in National Championships

The organisers have published the list of athletes taking part in the National Athletics Championships this weekend. The participants include 8 men and 4 women from Corfu, some of whom are competing in the Under-23 Championships. 3 of them now belong to clubs outside Corfu.

There are some potential medal winners amongst the Corfiots but for some of them the main aim is to perform well and improve their personal bests. For Spyridoula Karydi the goal is to possibly qualify for the Olympics and for Iro Vradi to qualify for the European Under-20 Championships.

There will be especial interest in the competition between Spyridoula Karydi and the Greek champion Voula Papachristou in the long jump and triple jump. The strong competition will surely help the Corfu athlete in her effort to achieve at least 14.32m in the triple jump.
