CORFU. Announcement from DEYAK. Minor problems are expected in the town’s water supply, especially in the higher areas.

DEYAK has chosen to carry out the repair of a new fault on the main water pipeline in Chrysida during the night, in an effort to minimise the impact on the town’s water supply.

According to a statement from the utility, the works will begin immediately after midnight on Tuesday, June 30, and are expected to be completed in the early hours of Wednesday, July 1. The pipeline supplies the reservoirs of Analipsi, which provide water to a large part of Corfu Town.

DEYAK estimates that the works will not result in any water supply interruptions. However, low water pressure cannot be ruled out in higher areas of the network until normal operation is fully restored.

The decision to carry out the works during nighttime hours aims, on the one hand, to reduce water consumption and, on the other, to limit inconvenience to consumers and traffic disruptions on the main road axis of Chrysida.

This is yet another intervention on this particular pipeline, which in recent years has shown frequent breaks, repeatedly bringing back into focus the need for its complete replacement. DEYAK asks consumers for their understanding regarding any temporary inconvenience that may occur during the works.
