Apartment fire in Polych. Konstanta — Prompt response from firefighters

Alarm was raised on Monday afternoon in a central area of the town when a fire broke out in a first-floor apartment on Polychroniou Konstanta Street.

The fire started in the kitchen of the residence, specifically in the extractor hood. The Fire Service immediately rushed to the scene with a strong response team consisting of:

• 4 fire engines
• 8 firefighters who took part in extinguishing the blaze
• A unit from the Fire Investigation Department to examine the causes of the incident

Fortunately, no one was injured. The person who was inside the apartment when the fire broke out managed to remain calm and evacuated the building in time, without any risk to their health.

The Fire Service’s investigation department is conducting a preliminary inquiry into the exact causes of the incident.
