Fire breaks out at the entrance to treatment plant
CORFU. The fire broke out at 18:00 on Tuesday at the waste dumping area outside the entrance to the town΄s treatment facility.
Seamen΄s strike on May 1

PATRA. The earthquake happened at 08:25 with the epicentre in Saravali near Patras. It was felt in Patra as well as in parts of Achaia and Aitolokarnania.
Power cuts – Tuesday 24 April
CORFU. The Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDIE) has announced that there will be power cuts on Tuesday 24 April from 08.30 to 14.00 in order to carry out necessary work on the Central Lines.
Greek ombudsman coming to Corfu
CORFU. A team from the ombudsman΄s office will be visiting the Ionian Islands Regional Administration on Wednesday 25th April. Specialists and assistant ombudsmen from the independent authority will be conducting inspections and investigation following reports from members of the public as well as working meetings with local authorities and community representatives.
