How Corfu voted in election of new KINAL leader

CORFU. In the KINAL party leadership election, Giorgos Papandreou came first in Corfu, approximately 100 votes ahead of Nikos Androulakis in the first round.

In Corfu the votes for the top three candidates were are as follows:

Papandreou - 789
Androulakis - 692
Loverdos - 629


The results from the individual polling stations have not yet been officially announced.

The second round, to be held next Sunday, will be between the two candidates who got the most votes nationwide - Nikos Androulakis and Giorgos Papandreou.

Just as in the rest of Greece, there was a record turnout in Corfu on Sunday, with 2,347 friends and members of the party, which will soon revert to its former name PASOK, according to the candidates.



According to initial unofficial information, the number of voters at each polling station was as follows:

Acharavi - 440
Skripero - 163
Corfu Town former Prefecture - 651
Corfu Town Workers Centre - 530
Lefkimmi - 212
Argyrades - 279
Paxos - 73
