CORFU. After a 2-week manhunt with the police using all means at their disposal, 47-year-old Dimitris Aspiotis has finally been caught.

The man known in the British press as the Beast of Kavos - having been convicted of raping six British women - has been involved again with the disappearance of a 34-year-old woman, who, when found, claimed that he had held her against her will and raped her.

The 47-year-old man who had previously been released early from prison due to a change in the law, was finally found today near Neohori in South Corfu.

In 2012 Dimitris Aspiotis was sentenced to 52 years for the rape of British women in Kavos. The early release of the serial rapist in 2019 caused an outcry in the British media.

The wanted man Dimitris Aspiotis was found at the bottom of a deep ravine in Gremna, Ai Gordis, Paleohori.

A difficult operation is underway at the moment to pull out the wanted man, who, according to initial information, is injured.
