Man, 55, with minor burns from boat fire in Benitses

CORFU. Benitses Marina staff extinguished the fire immediately and the 55-year-old man was taken to a private doctor.
A fire broke out yesterday morning on the boat “MARIA”, which was moored sideways at Benitses Marina.
More specifically, it was found that during the refuelling of the boat by the 55-year-old, an ignition occurred resulting in his injury.
The fire was extinguished immediately by Benitses Marina staff, while the 55-year-old was taken to a private doctor, where it was found that he has minor burns and, after he was given first aid, he left.
The incident is being investigated by Corfu Central Port Authority.
