CORFU. The ΄Kerkyra 180΄ leader Maria Dri participated in this effort, while the party leaders Mr. Trepeklis and Mr. Kaloudis and the Municipal Councillor Mr. Vasilakis were also present.
The Central Corfu Municipality and the Corfu tourism bodies joined forces, achieving the best possible result for our island. The indications confirm that Corfu will again be a top destination for the British market in 2023.
The Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and the Deputy Mayor for Tourism Panayiotis Varouchas met with the Director of the GNTO London and Ireland office Mrs. Skarveli to organise thematic fam and press trips for the promotion of Corfu's cultural, touristic, gastronomic and marine tourism.
At the same time, the International Festival is becoming an integral part of Corfu's tourist product, as the island enters the map of cultural tourist destinations. In fact, the Corfu International Festival will be promoted on the official GNTO website and on social media.
The Mayor and the Deputy Mayor also met with British tour operators, journalists and bodies active in the field of marine tourism, whom they informed about the new opportunities offered to the development of marine tourism by the operation of the two new marinas, the Benitses Marina and the Alypa Marina in Paleokastritsa.
The Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and the Deputy Mayor participated in the Greek Awards event organised for the first time in London by GNTO. During the event, the Mayor had the opportunity to present Corfu's comparative advantages as a tourist destination and invited representatives of the British media to visit Corfu.
Meetings were also held with representatives of airlines and companies active in the cruise industry.
