CORFU. 310 driving offences.
Between 10:00 and 14:00 on 26 August traffic police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks for driving offences. 747 vehicles were checked and there were six arrests - one for driving under the influence and five for driving without a licence.
There was a total of of 310 driving offences including the following:
- 33 speeding
- 1 driving under the influence
- 53 not wearing crash helmet
- 20 not wearing seat belts
- 8 using mobile phones while driving
- 12 without driving licences
- 3 with uninsured cars
- 4 without MOTs
13 vehicles were immobilised for driving without a licence, not wearing crash helmets, not using seat belts, worn tyres, being uninsured and without MOT certificate.
