Extra money for the 3 new Municipalities from the ΄Philodimos II΄ programme

ATHENS. 1m Euros for the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands and 2m Euros for each of the North and South Corfu Municipalities.
Following the decision of Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos, total funding of 19 million Euros will be available for the 12 new Municipalities that have been established in Greece - including the three in Corfu.
The funds will be made available through the 'Philodimos II' programme and will be on two levels. The first level - which includes Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands as well as Argostoli in Cephalonia - will receive funding of 1 million Euros. The second level - which includes North and South Corfu as well as Lixouri and Sami in Cephalonia - will receive 2 million.
Funding will be made available on application to the 'Philodimos II' programme. The two levels include the following Municipalities:
Level 1 - Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands, Argostoli, Servia, Mytilene and East Samos will receive 1m Euros.
Level 2 - North Corfu, South Corfu, Lixouri, Sami, Velventos, West Lesvos and West Samos will receive 2m Euros.
The following expenses are eligible: construction, improvement and maintenance of technical infrastructure; protection of the environment and improvement of quality of life; funding of studies for the above categories; purchase of mechanical equipment and machinery; construction, improvement and maintenance of administrative, social, sports and cultural infrastructure as well as funding for studies for these.
