Summer sales 14 July to 30 August

The summer sales officially begin on Monday, July 14. The sales period will last until Saturday, August 30.

Shops will also have the option to remain open on Sunday, July 20, if they wish.

As stated in an announcement by the Corfu Trade Association:

'According to law, every announcement regarding a price reduction must explicitly state the previous price (often referred to as the reference price) on which the discount is based. The previous price is the lowest price applied by the retailer for each product during the 30-day period prior to the implementation of the first discount on July 14.

Specifically for regular sales, the price reduction may take the following forms, always provided that the previous price is stated as outlined above:

• A percentage (e.g., "20% discount").

• A specific amount (e.g., "10 euros off").

• Indication of the new (lower) price along with the previous (higher) price that was applied, e.g., "now 50 euros, previously 100 euros." The previous price may also be shown crossed out.'

Regarding the optional opening of shops on Sunday, July 20, the Trade Association 'remains committed to its consistent position against the opening of retail stores on Sundays.'
