Five women arrested for pole dancing in Old Palace colonnade
CORFU. The Corfu photographer involved in the incident is still being sought.
Five women were arrested in connection with the incident that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, May 23, at the colonnade of the Old Palace.
Following complaints by representatives of the Corfu Ephorate of Antiquities, the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, and the Corfu Museum of Asian Art, the police arrested the women on Friday evening, May 23, based on relevant information.
A case file was filed against the five women for violating legislation related to the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage in general, as well as environmental protection laws. An additional male suspect — a Corfu photographer who participated in the incident — is still being sought.
The preliminary investigation was conducted by police and the arrested women will be brought before the Corfu Misdemeanors Prosecutor on Saturday morning.
