Pole dancing in Old Palace colonnade
CORFU. The Municipality of Central Corfu and the Museum of Asian Art are immediately filing a lawsuit against all responsible parties, as stated in a press release by the Ministry of Culture.
In the early morning hours of Friday, May 23, as revealed by a Corfu-based professional in a social media post, women performed pole dancing on a pole located in the colonnade of the Palace in the Old Town.
The incident has sparked reactions, and it remains unclear whether they had obtained any official permission or acted on their own initiative.
The Ministry of Culture issued the following statement:
"The incident took place in the exterior area of the Palace, specifically in the section that houses the Corfu Municipal Art Gallery, which is adjacent to the Corfu Museum of Asian Art. For this illegal act, the competent authorities—namely the Municipality of Corfu and the Corfu Museum of Asian Art—are immediately filing a lawsuit against all responsible parties."
