(Central Corfu Municipal Art Gallery) The opening of the Ionian University 18th Audiovisual Arts Festival took place yesterday at the Central Corfu Municipal Gallery, in the outdoor area of the People's Garden.

As every year, the collaboration between the Municipal Gallery and the Festival pertains to the visual arts component, through the organisation and presentation of the main exhibition, held in the "Thanos Christou" Art Hall.

The exhibition by Paris Antoniou titled "How Much of a Young Girl Are You?" is being held over the period May 8–18, as part of the 18th Festival. It is a dual interactive installation that showcases the total product of consumer society as a model, through image, sound, and space.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Konstantinos Vousolinos; the Dean of the Ionian University School of Music and Audiovisual Arts, Andreas Giannakoulopoulos; Emeritus Professor Nikos Kanellopoulos; members of the Artistic Committee of the Municipal Gallery; members of the academic community; and a large number of art enthusiasts.
