Concert "The Mandolin: Asia Minor, Crete, Athens, Ionian Islands"
CORFU. The first concert of the Echoes Artistic Association Orchestra on Saturday, January 18, at the Municipal Theatre.
The Echoes Artistic Association is delighted to announce the establishment of its orchestra, the Corfu Estudiantina. On Saturday, January 18, at 8:00 p.m., the orchestra's debut concert will take place at the Corfu Municipal Theatre.
This concert inaugurates a series of performances centred around the theme of the mandolin.
The concert is titled "The Mandolin: Asia Minor, Crete, Athens, Ionian Islands."
Accompanying Corfu Estudiantina will be renowned artists from the traditional music scene:
- Kyriakos Gouventas (violin)
- Christos Tsiamoulis (oud, vocals)
- Stefanos Dormparakis (kanun)
- Apostolos Valsamas (vocals, lute, mandocello)
- Elli Karydi and Krinthi Zira (vocals)
- Spyros Rouvas (musical direction and arrangements)

The Corfiot Cantada and Mandolinata Choir will also be taking part.
In parallel, the instructors Kyriakos Gouventas, Christos Tsiamoulis and Stefanos Dormparakis will lead the 3rd "En Chordais Kai Organois" Seminar organised by the Holy Metropolis of Corfu at the Spiritual Centre on the mornings of January 18 and 19.
