Successful two-day event in Sinies discovering mushrooms of Corfu
CORFU. This year’s event included delegations of mushroom enthusiasts from across Greece and Cyprus, as well as from Serbia, Croatia and Italy.
Sinies Educational and Cultural AssociationSociety, together with the Corfu Mushroom Lovers Association and the Greek Mushroom Lovers Association, co-organised the Mushroom Festival in Sinies for the seventh year running on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9.
Large numbers of people gathered at the venue to learn, have fun, and even satisfy their appetites at the events organised by the hosts.
The event programme included mushroom foraging excursions and identification, truffle hunting with truffle dogs, a lecture providing information on mushrooms, as well as an art and craft exhibition on mushrooms and nature featuring work from local primary schools and kindergartens.
On Saturday evening, November 9, mushroom chef Fotis Paraskevaidis prepared mushroom soup, grilled mushrooms and other mushroom delicacies for attendees.
This year’s event included delegations of mushroom enthusiasts from across Greece and Cyprus, as well as from Serbia, Croatia, and Italy.
The events were supported by the Municipality of North Corfu, Sinies Local Council, the Sinies Social Cooperative, the Greek Mushroom Lovers Association, the Kassios Dias Association and local accommodation owners.
