Award for Corfu Port Authority (OLKE) at "DEI Bite Awards 2024"
CORFU. The project was designed and implemented within the framework of the Interreg Greece-Italy programme "THEMIS".
Corfu Port Authority along with the OTE Group was awarded a silver award at the DEI Bite Awards 2024 for the project "Intelligent System for the Enhancement of Marine Tourism at the Port of Paxos." The project is an innovative technological initiative, which combines different technologies and subsystems under a unified and cohesive technological framework, uniquely connecting the community of recreational boat users with the managers and the support staff of the tourist Port of Paxos.
It comprises the establishment of a network of sensors to monitor the status of berthing positions, the installation of smart electricity and water supply pedestals, as well as the installation of smart cameras at the port entrance and exit gates, that can recognise the passing yachts.
The data from these systems are transmitted to the Tourist Port Management and Monitoring Centre, allowing the Port Authority to improve the port operation and appearance and provide services to recreational boats using modern electronic tools.
The project was designed and implemented within the framework of the Interreg Greece-Italy program "THEMIS," which aimed at the installation of new innovative technologies and services in order to enhance maritime mobility and support marine routes and yachting in the Ionian and Adriatic regions.
