Tourist injured on North Corfu path rescued

CORFU. The female tourist was rescued by the Thinalio Fire Department and transferred by a North Corfu Civil Protection vessel to Agios Stefanos harbour.

A 60-year-old female tourist who injured her leg during a hike in the Psaromyta area of Erimitis was located and assisted by rescuers from the Thinalio Fire Department.

Her friends, who were walking with her, called for help after her injury, and the head of the Civil Protection Service, Giorgos Mavropoulos, arrived at the scene with a vessel to pick her up and transfer her to Agios Stefanos Sinion harbour.

From there, she was transferred by ambulance to Corfu Hospital for first aid.
