North Corfu Municipality gives 1.5 tons of plastic bottle tops to Special Needs Association
CORFU. The bottle tops all came from the 201 recycling collection points in North Corfu.
North Corfu Municipality delivered one and a half tons of plastic bottle tops to the Corfu Regional Special Needs Association on Thursday, November 2, with the aim of meeting the needs for wheelchairs and other orthopeadic items.
The handover ceremony was attended on behalf of the Municipality by the Deputy Mayor for Circular Economy, Environment, Social Policy and Public Relations, Spyridoula Kokkali, and the Head of Civil Protection, George Mavropoulos. On behalf of the Corfu Regional Special Needs Association, the President, Giorgos Spanos, and the Treasurer of the Association, Alexandros Kapodistrias, accepted the delivery.
The bottle tops came from the North Corfu Municipality's recycling network of 201 collection points. As part of the collaboration between the two organisations, the Special Needs Association will deliver a wheelchair to Corfu 2nd Special School in Velonades in the near future.
The Municipality of North Corfu warmly thanks members of the public for their participation in all circular economy activities and the Regional Special Needs Association for the significant social contribution it makes.
Στην παράδοση – παραλαβή συμμετείχε εκ μέρους του Δήμου Βόρειας Κέρκυρας η Αντιδήμαρχος Κυκλικής Οικονομίας, Περιβάλλοντος, Κοινωνικής Πολιτικής και Δημοσίων Σχέσεων, Σπυριδούλα Κόκκαλη και ο Προϊστάμενος της Πολιτικής Προστασίας, Γιώργος Μαυρόπουλος, ενω εκ μέρους του Νομαρχιακού Συλλόγου ΑμεΑ Κέρκυρας ο Πρόεδρος, Γιώργος Σπανός και ο Ταμίας του Συλλόγου, Αλέξανδρος Καποδίστριας.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι τα καπάκια προήλθαν από το δίκτυο 201 γωνιών ανακύκλωσης του Δήμου Βόρειας Κέρκυρας. Στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των δύο φορέων, ο Σύλλογος ΑμεΑ θα παραδώσει το επόμενο διάστημα ένα αναπηρικό αμαξίδιο στο 2ο Ειδικό Σχολείο Κέρκυρας στους Βελονάδες.
Ο Δήμος Βόρειας Κέρκυρας ευχαριστεί θερμά τους πολίτες για την συμμετοχή τους σε όλες τις δράσεις κυκλικής οικονομίας και τον Νομαρχιακό Σύλλογο ΑμεΑ για το σημαντικό έργο κοινωνικής προσφοράς που επιτελεί.
