(North Corfu Municipality) North Corfu Municipality, along with FARGECO HELLAS COMPANY, is launching a new initiative as part of the overall recycling strategy, with the 15th recycling stream, involving both the collection and management of cooking oil. 12 specific recycling bins have been placed in strategic spots in the municipality:

Acharavi recycling centre
Nymfes square
Karousades
Sidari recycling centre
Avliotes square

Roda
Recycling cooking oil is an important step for protecting the environment, as one litre of burnt oil can destroy up to one million litres of potable water. In addition, throwing oil down the sink puts a significant strain on the biological treatment system, causing serious blocks in pipes and polluting sewers.
North Corfu Municipality invites members of the public to participate actively in this initiative, by saving their cooking oil in plastic bottles and depositing them in special recycling bins. Together we can protect our environment and ensure a cleaner and more sustainable future for next generations.
