CORFU. 192 years since the assassination of the first Governor of Modern Greece.
The Holy Metropolis of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontia Islands has announced that the annual memorial service for the first Governor of Modern Greece, Ioannis Capodistrias of Corfu, will take place on Wednesday, September 27 at 10 o'clock in the morning, at the Holy Monastery of Platytera, where his tomb is located. This year marks the 192nd anniversary of his assassination.
The memorial service will be officiated by Archbishop Nektarios.
