CORFU. All the proposals of the consultation were presented in order for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan project team to make the final proposal.
On Monday 8 May, the network of bodies met with the Central Corfu Municipality's project management team for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan within the framework of the completion of the second phase.
The second phase, which includes the common vision, the specific objectives, the alternative mobility management scenarios and the evaluation of these alternative scenarios, was put to consultation with an open conference held on 15 December 2022, in which bodies and citizens participated, while time was given for the submission of proposals until mid-February 2023.
The Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou, the Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros and the members of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan's project management team participated in the meeting on 8 May, along with representatives of the Ionian Islands Region, the Ionian University, the Technical Chamber, the Traffic Police, the Inspectorate of Antiquities, AOCTA, the Urban Bus Service etc. from the network of bodies.
All the proposals submitted during the consultation that lasted for months were presented in detail, in order for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan project team to make the final proposal.
The presentation was made by the Municipality's scientific advisor Aggelos Koulouris.
The Central Corfu Municipality's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is expected to be completed in the near future, in order for it to be submitted and receive the relevant approvals.
The Mayor stated the following: "We are one of the first municipalities in the country to complete the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. The vision that the residents themselves have for our town is a cornerstone for the development of the municipality's Plan. Together we are designing a new Corfu, a humane town with quality of life".
