CORFU. The concert will include the anthem performed by the ΄Old΄ Philharmonic Society and San Giacomo Municipal Choir. ΄Metron΄ Artistic Society will also be taking part.
To celebrate its 130th anniversary, Corfu Gymnastics Association is putting on a concert at the Municipal Theatre on Saturday 6 May at 19:00. The concert will include the anthem performed by the 'Old' Philharmonic Society and San Giacomo Municipal Choir. 'Metron' Artistic Society will also be taking part.
All local organisations and groups are invited as well as sports clubs representatives and the general public.
The anniversary events will continue until December, 2023.
The Corfu Gymnastics Association was founded on March 6, 1893. It is one of the oldest sports associations in Greece and one of the first to be recognised by the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation, of which it is a founding member. Its anthem was dedicated by Kostis Palamas, while the Hellenic Post issued a commemorative stamp for the club's 100th anniversary and its historic flag adorned a hall during the 2004 Olympics!
