CORFU. A total of 180 people will be visiting Corfu (teams, fans and others), including government ministers and British MPs.
A series of matches and other events begin tomorrow, Wednesday 19 April, at Gouvia Marina cricket ground to celebrate Corfu cricket's 200th anniversary. In the first match at 16:00, a mixed Corfu XI, as hosts, will play against the British Army team Brigade of Gurkhas. The match will take place at the Gouvia ground, which has been fully renovated with new wickets on the pitch and in the nets.
On Thursday 20 April, there will be a welcome reception in the People's Garden at 20:30 with all the teams in attendance. A total of 180 people will be visiting Corfu (teams, fans and others), including government ministers and British MPs.
The events are being held under the aegis of the National Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) in collaboration with the Ionian Islands Regional Administration, Central Corfu Municipality and Corfu Chamber of Commerce.
